Sumerian texts describe numerous gods, two of which stand out, Enki and Enlil. These gods have been given different names by the Akkadians, Babylonians, Canaanites, and Israelites.

This substack will begin with a brief overview of Sumeria, before touching upon the Sumerian Pantheon, and then explicitly defining Enki and Enlil. The goal is to answer the following question: Is the God of the Bible actually the ancient Sumerian God Enlil?
